The more fashionable line of Aquascutum coats began in the 1950s - prior to that the company had more of a utilitarian approach. This coat dates to the 60s and has that bold and dramatic mod feel to it so favored during that decade. It is made with a treated cotton canvas of mid-weight and is very well made. It has a bit of a Mac feel with a slight nod to a trench coat too. I love the hood - it adds an extra dash of boldness to the coat that really makes it stand out even more. The print is a fabulous graphic black and white that has an exotic feel. Big glossy buttons close it and there are pockets on each hip. A really great vintage find. Excellent condition.
Fully lined in a black silky rayon and closes with domes black buttons as shown. Maybe a smudge of darkening to the light parts at each cuff but very inconsequential and you really have to be looking there specifically to notice it. I am being very picky. Front pockets and attached hood.
